John has more than 30 years of project management experience in public financial management, budgeting, procurement and other related areas. Besides he has experiences in procurement and contract management, grants management, project monitoring and risk management, policy analysis and design, agrobusiness value chain development, private sector development, trade and logistic management, etc.
He has worked and is conversant with major development agencies including the USAID, MCC, EU, World Bank etc. Some of the major projects he has managed include the current Technical Assistance to support the Development of a Roadmap for Establishment of City Management Offices in Six Secondary Cities in Rwanda and a Framework for Preparing Institutional and Capacity Development Plans (a project funded under the Rwanda Urban Development Project with a funding envelope of US$160.45 million);
Independent Fiduciary Agency for the Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Project (KISIP) Two (aprocurement, contract management and financial management project on infrastructure upgrading in 23 counties in Kenya worth about USD 90 million); Deputy Project Manager for Central Technical Assistant Team supporting the implementation of KISIP One (a USD 100 million project implementing tenure security improvement and procurement and contract management for implementation of infrastructure upgrading in 15 municipalities in Kenya); project director for digitization of bid and contract management, and subdelegating and grant management for Africa Union office Based in South Africa (AUDA/NEPAD); a TA member for the implementation of the Rural Poverty Reduction and Local Government Support Programme (a three year project which procured, contract managed and supported implementation of 65 projects in 63 local authorities in Kenya worth more than Euro 20 million with a success rate of 98%) among many other projects. John holds a Ph. D in Business Administration (Finance), a Master’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) First Class Honors. He is also a CPA(K) and technically qualified in Microsoft Office (Word, Excell, PowerPoint, Visio Basic, SharePoint, etc) and an excellent communicator.
