Biography
Richard Anson (Ph.D. economics) is a specialist in international economic development, with 45 years of work experience (including 35 years in Sub-Sahara Africa), involving about 35 developing countries. Areas of expertise include: agriculture development/transformation; natural resource management/NRM and climate-smart change; strategic plans; multi-sector strategic planning; agricultural public expenditures; institutional reforms and governance. He has worked for a wide range of international
agencies and government clients, including 24 years as a World Bank staff member, serving as an agricultural sector analyst, task team leader and sector coordinator, operations chief and senior advisor (based in Eastern Africa). He also is a Senior Associate with Humanitarian and Development Partnerships International (HDPI: www.HDPI.org) – a network of senior practitioners who address international development challenges, working in a multi-disciplinary manner. In West Africa, he has experience in about 5 West African countries including the country of this assignment – Liberia. Richard has a PhD in Development Economics with a strong multi sectorial approach to addressing development issues and strategies, a Master Degree in Development Economics, both from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and a Bachelor degree in Economics, from the Wake Forest University, North Carolina. His proven performance record, as exhibited by being on a service retainer for numerous international agencies,
