Maxwell holds a Master Degree in Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor in Science Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana. We consider Mr. Agbenorhevi a good fit for this position because being from Ghana, he has the regional agriculture and commodity systems experience and besides he has undertaken similar work in Liberia where he was the policy specialist in a commodity market regulatory advisory Services. He has over 20 years of professional experience working with international agricultural development and consultancy organizations, mostly in senior/ management positions. He also has a deep conceptual understanding of agricultural development frameworks and food systems and has years of practical implementation experience in multi-disciplinary programs including interventions in the tree crop sector. He is also specialized in strategic planning and design of programs at country and project levels, strengthening of agricultural market systems, inclusive agribusiness and value chain analysis and SME development. He has an extensive consultancy experience in the evaluation/assessment of major agricultural programs/projects in African countries funded by donors and governments and the conduct of agricultural commodity sector research but also a strong experience collaborating with the public sector (including MoFA) key agribusiness companies, Development Partners, local and foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and organizing a host of multi-stakeholder knowledge and policy advocacy platforms.
